Acorns Group Brings Learning to Life Through Real Butterfly Lifecycle Experience
Children in the Acorns group at Filton Avenue Nursery School have experienced extraordinary early years education through their hands-on butterfly lifecycle project. Following their exploration of the beloved story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, this Bristol nursery transformed learning into reality by introducing live caterpillars to the classroom environment.
The early years practitioners at this outstanding Bristol nursery carefully guided the children through the feeding and observation process, creating daily opportunities for scientific discovery. Children demonstrated exceptional curiosity, asking thoughtful questions, making predictions about the transformation process, and engaging in meaningful peer discussions.
This authentic early years learning experience has brought the butterfly lifecycle concept to life in the most engaging and educational manner possible.
