Children and staff from Little Hayes Nursery School were invited to Colliers Gardens Care Home to sing with the residents, creating meaningful intergenerational connections through music.
Little Hayes Nursery School shared some of the songs they have been learning with Ellie, their music teacher. The residents really enjoyed Jingle Bells, the action songs and the children’s dancing with scarves. This special visit brought together the young and old through the joy of music and movement, creating memorable experiences for both children and residents.
The nursery was only able to take a small group this time, but it was such a successful visit that they hope to return regularly next year with different groups of children. These intergenerational visits provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop confidence, share their learning and build connections with their wider community whilst bringing joy to the care home residents.
Little Hayes Nursery School looks forward to continuing this partnership with Colliers Gardens Care Home and creating more special moments through music and shared experiences.
