St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School children have been exploring mark-making, role play, literacy and developing important hygiene habits during Term 2.
The children have been exploring mark-making using big and small movements, developing both gross and fine motor control through varied mark-making experiences. There has been wonderful engagement with role play, particularly caring for babies, which helps children develop empathy and nurturing skills whilst exploring family relationships. The children have also been exploring books, building their love of reading and developing early literacy skills through stories and pictures.
For the festive season, children made cards for their families, creating personal gifts to share with loved ones. The nursery held parties where children ate food, danced to music and played pass the parcel, celebrating together as a community. The children enjoyed decorating the tree, bringing festive cheer to their nursery environment.
The children are always very interested in brushing their teeth before they go home, developing important hygiene habits. The nursery listens to or sings the tooth brushing song to make this routine fun and engaging, helping children establish positive dental care practices that will benefit them throughout their lives.
St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School has had a wonderful Term 2 full of learning, creativity and celebration.
