Knowle West Nursery School has welcomed returning families and new friends to the start of the new academic year, with the staff team busy helping everyone settle into their routines.
The term began with the team visiting lots of children and families at home, whether children are moving to a new class or starting at the nursery for the first time. Building relationships and getting to know each other is an important part of the nursery curriculum, and this is supported by carefully planned settling for every child. Members of the Senior Leadership Team are always around at Welcome Time and out on the gates to help families and answer any questions.
There have also been some changes to the staff team. The nursery said goodbye to practitioner Adele at the end of the summer term and wishes her well in her new job. Mel has joined the team this term, bringing her Primary School experience to the Hedgehog Team and Early Years 3.
Families can get involved through the Friends Group, a parent and carer group supported by George and Leigh from the staff team. The group meets regularly each term and is a great way to meet other parents and carers and find out more about the work of the school, with a morning drop-in at 11am before pick up and an afternoon drop-in at 12.30pm after drop off.
