Children at Redcliffe Nursery School have been enjoying a sensory visit to Super Sense Bristol and celebrating Khmer New Year and Bangla New Year this month, exploring new spaces and learning about diverse cultural traditions.
The nursery visited Super Sense Bristol for another lovely visit, with the team learning about their bubble lamp installation. The children had a great time visiting and exploring the space, experiencing rich sensory environments and innovative installations. The team would love to get secure bubble lamps and mirrors installed in the rainbow room at Redcliffe, inspired by what they saw during the visit.
The nursery has also been acknowledging Khmer New Year (Choul Chnam Thmey), which celebrates the traditional New Year in Cambodia, and Bangla New Year (Pohela Boishakh), which marks the beginning of the Bengali New Year. Redcliffe values the many cultures, traditions and experiences that make up the nursery community, and the team wishes a joyful and hopeful New Year to all staff, families and community members who are celebrating.
These experiences show how Redcliffe combines sensory exploration through visits to specialist spaces with celebration of the rich cultural diversity within the nursery community, helping children develop appreciation for both innovative learning environments and diverse traditions.
