Children in Yellow Room at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School made the most of the warm weather last month, finding thoughtful and playful ways to stay cool whilst continuing to explore and learn together.
A highlight was spending time in the garden and paddling pool, where children enjoyed water play, experimenting with pouring and splashing and building confidence as they moved and played in a refreshing environment. These experiences support physical development as children practise coordination and control, whilst also encouraging communication as they share ideas and play alongside their friends.
The children also took great care of the plants in the allotment. Watering, observing growth and talking about what plants need to thrive helped to build their understanding of the natural world. These moments offered opportunities for curiosity, responsibility and early scientific thinking, as children began to notice changes and make connections between their care and the plants’ wellbeing.
It was a joyful time full of sunshine, exploration and teamwork, with children showing kindness to each other and the environment around them.
St Werburgh’s Park was also thrilled to reveal its brand new Central Bristol Nursery Schools Federation logo and signage last month. Created by Signs Now and developed in partnership with Chaos Created, the new logo and signage really liven up the nursery and give it a distinct identity as part of the wider Federation.
