All aboutCashmore Early Years Centrein Bristol

At Cashmore Early Years Centre, we are proud to be the centre of our community. We put children and their families at the heart of everything we do. We are a Maintained Nursery School, run by the Local Authority, staffed by an experienced team including the Headteacher, Deputy Head, qualified teachers, Early Years Practitioners and support staff. We provide exceptional early learning for children aged 2 to 5 years old, focusing on developing language, social skills, self-confidence, and independence. We celebrate the diverse cultures, languages and life experiences of all the families who form our vibrant community. Our deeply inclusive ethos ensures that all children are supported to learn and grow. Our experienced team use a range of supportive provision, such as visuals, Makaton and early intervention groups to ensure all children make progress from their individual starting points.

Why chooseCashmore Early Years Centre

Supportive Partnership Approach

Cashmore Early Years Centre has developed a network of strong local partnerships to meet the needs of our children and their families. We work in collaboration with our sister site at St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School, The Wellspring Settlement, Wellspring Health Centre, Travelling Light Theatre Company, Bristol University Little Library, Gardening for Health and other local organisations to enrich our offer to families. This integrated approach means families benefit from services that address children’s development alongside family health and well-being. Parents particularly value how staff go above and beyond to support not only their children but also them as parents, creating a nurturing community network that strengthens the entire family unit.

Woodland Gardens in the Heart of the City

We recognise that many of our families live in flats without easy access to the outdoors. Our setting boasts two woodland-style gardens that provide opportunities for our children to freely explore the outdoors. The gardens include large timber climbing and balancing trails, communication-friendly spaces, water play, a mud kitchen, plants to look after and space to be physically active. The gardens’ mature trees and shrubs offer a real connection with the natural world.

Welcoming, Family-Centred Community

Since its reopening in 2014, Cashmore Early Years Centre quickly established itself as a highly valued community resource, now serving over 100 children each week. Our setting has earned a reputation among local families as “the best nursery around,” known for its warm, supportive atmosphere. Parents from Redfield and surrounding areas highly recommend the centre, appreciating how the staff create meaningful connections with both children and parents. This family-centred approach has made Cashmore a cherished resource with a reputation for inclusivity.

For those of you who live in Redfield or surrounding areas and have young babies about to start nursery or are looking for a nursery placement, I highly recommend Cashmore Early Years Centre! Honestly the best nursery around, the staff are so attentive and kind and also go above and beyond to support your children and also us as parents. It’s my daughters last day there today and she will greatly miss them all! Thank you so much Cashmore for everything you have done and continue to do for families and our children.
