Keeping the Rhythm in Beech Room at Hartcliffe Nursery School

Apr 30, 2026

Children in Beech Room at Hartcliffe Nursery School have been enjoying playing instruments and singing favourite songs this month, having great fun experimenting with sound and keeping the rhythm as they played along.

These musical experiences help children develop listening skills as they tune in to different sounds and rhythms, coordination as they play instruments in time with songs, and confidence as they express themselves through music. Music-making also offers valuable opportunities for creativity and self-expression, allowing children to explore how different instruments sound and feel whilst enjoying the joy of making music together.

Playing instruments and singing together helps children build social skills through shared musical experiences, develop an understanding of rhythm and pattern, and express their feelings and ideas in creative ways that support communication and emotional development.
