Beech and Willow Rooms at Filton Avenue Nursery School have been learning about space through an immersive projection experience.
The children watched a projection of space on the ceiling, creating an immersive experience that brought the wonders of the universe into the classroom. This engaging visual display sparked curiosity and wonder whilst introducing children to planets, stars and the vastness of space.
Lying down and looking up at the projected images allowed children to experience space in a unique way, encouraging questions and conversations about what they could see. This sensory approach to learning about space supports children’s understanding of the world whilst developing their scientific curiosity and vocabulary.
The immersive space projection provided wonderful opportunities for children to explore astronomical concepts in an accessible, engaging way that captured their imagination and inspired their thinking about the world beyond Earth.
