Getting in the Festive Spirit at Rosemary Nursery School

Dec 19, 2025

Rosemary Nursery School children in Classes 1 and 2 have been getting in the festive spirit this week.

Both classes have listened to The Christmas Story, decorated their Christmas tree, wrapped gifts to go under it and explored the wonderful different textures and materials of the baubles and tinsel. These sensory experiences help children develop their understanding of seasonal celebrations whilst building fine motor skills through handling different festive materials.

Rosemary Nursery School also hosted a Stay and Play session where families could come and spend time with their children making beautiful winter artwork using clay and natural evergreen. Families were then invited to watch their children sing some songs they have been practising and join in for a dance at the end. These family involvement opportunities strengthen the home-nursery connection and allow parents to experience their children’s learning firsthand.

Rosemary Nursery School wishes families that celebrate Christmas a very special holiday season and everyone a very peaceful and joyful two-week break. The nursery looks forward to seeing everyone in the New Year, with term starting on Tuesday 6th January.
