Why chooseLittle Hayes Nursery School

Play Based, Creative Curriculum
Our nursery is rooted in play-based learning where children grow with friends and trusted adults. Our experienced teachers create opportunities inspired by children’s interests and fascinations, covering all EYFS areas in motivating, inclusive ways.
We value creative and artistic learning for emotional wellbeing. Each room has well-stocked art areas, construction space, and inviting sensory and role play resources. We prioritize sharing books and stories, with children developing and acting out their own ideas.
Our music specialist holds weekly sessions with songs, instruments and dancing, plus regular family music sessions. We work with Children’s Kitchen group, focusing on planting, picking and cooking from our garden. This year we’ve welcomed Travelling Light Theatre for creative storytelling and puppet making.

Inviting Environments Inside and Out
We believe connecting with nature provides rich, joyful learning opportunities. Our extensive purpose-built spaces enable indoor and outdoor curriculum implementation daily.
Our large garden offers different areas to explore – space to run, chase, ride and build healthy muscles, plus mature trees providing peaceful shade where children spot birds and notice creatures. Children plant seeds and tend plants to understand food origins and make healthy choices.
Our homely indoor spaces inspire children to follow interests and practice new learning. Rooms encourage independence and deep play involvement, with abundant open-ended resources that nurture creativity and celebrate unique ways children learn together.

Strong Community Partnerships
Little Hayes builds meaningful partnerships with families and the wider community, recognising that children thrive when home and school collaborate. As part of the Little Hayes and Speedwell Federation, we benefit from shared expertise and resources enhancing learning experiences.
We actively involve parents in children’s learning journeys through shared experiences and open communication. Staff ensure children develop solid school readiness foundations, impressing parents with how well-prepared children become for next steps. This community-focused approach helps families feel supported while giving children belonging within a wider social context.

What people say aboutLittle Hayes Nursery School
The fantastic staff have looked after my two children the last 5 years. I’m very impressed how ready they made them for school! I can absolutely recommend this nursery to everyone.
They have been so understanding and supportive and really allowed my child to be herself from day one. My child attended another setting previously and always asked not to go, since coming to Little Hayes she bounds in with a smile everyday (and asks to come on extra days!) I value how well staff know the children and how attuned they are to their needs.
Highly recommend this nursery, very friendly, helpful and supportive staff. very bright and cheerful little nursery.
