Children in Willow Room at The Limes Nursery School have been making marks on a giant scale this month, on huge sheets of paper indoors and in the puddles outside.
Working this big meant children used their whole bodies, stretching, reaching and moving across the space as they tried out different materials and movements. Painting in the puddles was a favourite. Children watched their marks spread, change and then disappear, which led to lots of questions and conversations about what they could see.
Willow Room has also started practising toothbrushing. To begin with, children are getting used to the taste of toothpaste and the routine of cleaning their teeth, using their fingers first. This gets them ready to move on to using a toothbrush soon.
Across the nursery, The Limes has also been celebrating Black History Month, with children learning lots along the way.
